The Millbrae School District is a K-8 elementary school district. The District operates five schools: four K-5 schools and one 6-8 middle school. District enrollment reached 2,099 students in 2007.

The Millbrae School District has outstanding schools with high performance test scores well above state and county averages (see Figure 1). In the most recent CAT/6 standardized test, Millbrae students outperformed their peers in every subject area – reading, language, mathematics and spelling.

Millbrae’s student population is ethnically diverse with over 30 languages spoken as first languages other than English. The March 2007 Language Census Report shows the most common languages to be:

All of the schools in Millbrae enjoy close working relationships with the City of Millbrae and the Millbrae business community. This collaborative relationship extends to programs and support services that are provided in conjunction with the Police and Fire Departments, Recreation Department, Millbrae Library, and service organizations. The Millbrae Education Foundation has recently been formed to provide private funding to enrich and sustain quality education for all students in the Millbrae School District.
